William C. Head

William C. Head, Esquire

William C. “Bubba” Head is well-known in the Forsyth County court. He has gone to trial on many driving while intoxicated cases and appealed cases from Forsyth State Court to the Georgia Court of Appeals and Georgia Supreme Court. A member of the State Bar of Georgia since 1976, Bubba received his law degree from the University of Georgia School of Law that same year. Mr. Head is the author of several books, including highly-regarded book written for citizens facing DUI charges, The DUI Book. He also wrote the largest-selling book in US history, “101 Ways to Avoid a Drunk Driving Conviction” in 1991.

A co-founder and former regent of the National College for DUI Defense, Mr. Head is a LIFE member of both of the top and most prestigious criminal defense groups, the Georgia Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, and the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. He also maintains membership in The Georgia Trial Lawyers Association, the  American Trial Lawyers Association, American Bar Association, and the Atlanta Bar Association, the North Fulton Bar Association. He is also a founding member of the South Carolina Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and originator of the Georgia Defense of Drinking Drivers Group [Georgia DODD].

In 1994, Mr. Head was the first lawyer in Georgia to obtain standardized field sobriety training in accordance with NHTSA practitioner standards. If fact, he sponsored the course for other lawyers to learn this valuable information. The same is true for the Intoxilyzer 5000 breath machine used in Georgia. Mr. Head sponsored the initial 1996 training program at Emory University Conference Center, and attended the first training ever offered in our State. He is also the only attorney in America to be honored by a national poll of top DUI attorneys as being the BEST DUI LAWYER in America, which occurred in 2003 at Harvard University School of Law as part of the Summer Session of www.NCDD.com

Tom Thomas

Thomas J. Thomas, Esquire

Thomas J. Thomas has devoted his career to defending clients against drinking and driving charges. Mr. Thomas received his law degree with honors from Indiana University of Law and is a frequent speaker at legal conferences and seminars on the topic of handling driver’s license suspensions and revocations in DUI cases.

A member of the criminal law and computer law sections of the Georgia Bar, Mr. Thomas stays on the cutting edge of DUI defense strategies as a member of the Georgia Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. He has completed courses on field sobriety testing, breathalyzer testing, and mastering scientific evidence in drunk-driving cases.

Lee Webb

Lee Webb, Esquire

Dedicated to his clients’ defense, Mr. Webb received his undergraduate degree from the University of Georgia, and his law degree from the Georgia State University College of Law and was admitted to the Bar of the State of Georgia in 1995. He is a member of several legal organizations, including the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, the Georgia Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, and the Georgia Defense of Drinking Drivers Group.

Mr. Lee completed his training as a practitioner of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) Standardized Field Sobriety Evaluations in 1995 and has also taken the Intoxilyzer 5000 Breath Instrument Training. He completed a special course designed to help his cross-examine police officers about DUI-drugs cases, called the Drug Recognition Expert Overview. This advanced training gives him the knowledge and experience necessary to challenge the evidence in his clients’ cases whether involving alcohol or drugs.

Gregory Willis

Gregory A. Willis, Esquire

A top-rated attorney on review sites such as AVVO and Kudzu, Gregory A. Willis received his undergraduate education at the University of Virginia and obtained his law degree from the University of Georgia School of Law in 1996. He is a frequent speaker at continuing legal education conferences on the topic of defending DUI cases and has taught other attorneys how to analyze DUI cases for trial and how to handle administrative license suspensions.

A member of many legal organizations, such as the National College of DUI Defense, the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, the Georgia Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, and the Georgia Defense of Drinking Drivers Group, Mr. Willis has completed courses on field sobriety testing, forensic alcohol and urine laboratory testing and training on Georgia’s Intoxilyzer 5000 breath testing device. Like Mr. Webb and other attorneys at HTW&W, Mr. Willis has also completed the Drug Recognition Expert Overview course.

Lawrence Kohn

Lawrence A. Kohn, Esquire

A magna cum laude graduate of the Georgia State University College of Law, Lawrence A. Kohn has spent his entire law career practicing DUI law. His undergraduate degree was obtained at Emory University. He is often asked to speak to other lawyers at DUI defense workshops and seminars. Topics he has covered in the past include Analyzing DUI Cases for Trial, Defending a DUI Case, Defending Drinking Drivers, Recent DUI Law Update for Georgia, and Handling Administrative Driver’s License Suspensions and Revocations.

Mr. Kohn is a member of the National College of DUI Defense, the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, and the Georgia Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. He has also chaired several drunk-driving trial programs presented to judges, prosecutors, and defense attorneys across Georgia.
